Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Stark App, the internet banking service of Tudun Wada Microfinance Bank.

Please read these terms carefully. By registering for or using Stark App you agree to them. They apply in addition to the account mandate and any other agreement you have signed with Tudun Wada Microfinance Bank; where there is a conflict, the signed account mandate prevails.

1. Who we are

Tudun Wada Microfinance Bank (TWMFB) is a microfinance bank licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Stark App is the online channel through which we make your accounts available to you.

2. Eligibility and registration

  • You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract.
  • You must provide accurate identity information and complete the KYC verification required by CBN regulations.
  • You must register in your own name, or as an authorised signatory of a registered business.
  • We may decline an application, or close an account, where we are required to by law or regulation.

3. Your credentials

You are responsible for keeping your password, transaction PIN and one-time passwords confidential. Any instruction authenticated with your credentials will be treated as given by you. Tell us immediately if you believe someone else knows them or has used your account.

We will never ask you for your password, PIN or OTP by phone, email or message.

4. Transactions

  • Instructions given through Stark App are final once authorised with your transaction PIN and cannot be recalled by us unilaterally.
  • You are responsible for the accuracy of the recipient's account number and bank. Always check the name we display before approving.
  • Transactions are subject to your available balance, your KYC tier limits, and any restriction on your account.
  • We may delay, decline or reverse a transaction where we are required to by law, or where we reasonably suspect fraud or error.
  • Transfers to other banks are executed over the NIP rail and their timing depends on the receiving bank.

5. Fees and charges

Fees applicable to transfers, bill payments and other services are those set out in our published tariff, which follows the Central Bank of Nigeria's Guide to Charges by Banks and Other Financial Institutions. Applicable charges are shown to you before you authorise a transaction where the channel allows.

6. Availability

We aim to keep Stark App available at all times, but access may be interrupted for maintenance, or by events outside our control including failures at third parties such as the payment switch or your network provider. We are not liable for losses caused by such interruptions where we have acted reasonably.

7. Acceptable use

  • Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose, including fraud, money laundering or terrorism financing.
  • Do not allow another person to use your credentials or operate your account on your behalf without our written consent.
  • Do not attempt to access data or accounts that are not yours, or to interfere with the operation of the service.

8. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or close your access where we are required to by law or regulation, where we reasonably suspect fraudulent or unlawful activity, or where you breach these terms. You may stop using Stark App at any time; closing your bank account itself follows the process set out in your account mandate.

9. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law. We are responsible for losses caused by our own failure to exercise reasonable care. We are not responsible for losses arising from your failure to keep your credentials confidential, or from instructions you authorised.

10. Complaints and disputes

Contact our support team first — details are on the support page. If a complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction you may escalate it to the Central Bank of Nigeria Consumer Protection Department. These terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes in regulation or in the service. We will publish the updated terms here and, where the change is material, notify you. Continuing to use Stark App after a change takes effect means you accept the updated terms.

12. Contact

Questions about these terms can be sent to support@tudunwadamfb.com.ng or raised at any TWMFB branch.
